The FGN/ALAT Digital Skillnovation Programme is a programme of the Federal Government of Nigeria in partnership with Wema Bank, to train 2 million Nigerian youths and 1 million Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises with a diverse range of digital skills.

FGN Alat


The FGN ALAT program has shortlisted the first batch of the programme. The shortlisted candidates are still currently taking their first training courses. The first training course is Soft Skills, after which they proceed to another course.

The Soft Skills course was expected to end on December 27, 2023. But was later extended by two weeks, to enable everybody to meet up with their courses. This means that the soft skill sessions, originally scheduled for 4 weeks, will now take 6 weeks. While the technical skill sessions are scheduled to hold for 4-6 weeks (depending on your learning pace

On 31st December 2023, WEMA Bank hosted a workshop for the shortlisted participants in several States. This workshop was designed to provide valuable insights, tips, and resources that will enhance participants’ experience during the FGN-ALAT SkillNovation programme.

In the workshop, it was stated that successful candidates who applied for business, will get grants from the Federal Government, to start or expand their business. They will also have access to business mentorship to enable them succeed in their chosen fields.

While those that applied as job seekers will get access to employers and companies for good jobs.

So currently, it is expected that the first batch participants should be able to complete their soft skills courses within the month of January, 2024, and take the assessment tests. 

To qualify for final selection, it is expected that participants must pass the assessment tests, with at least 80% score on each course.

Also, it is expected that each participant gets a Wema bank account. So if they have not sent your Wema bank account details to you, you can send them an email reminding them that you have not received your account details.

How to take the FGN Alat Courses

  • participants are advised to visit the official application portal, https://fg-skillnovation.alat.ng/, to gain access to their user dashboard.
  • When you access your dashboard, you can start taking your courses and the attached assessments/tests.

What about those that have not registered? 

Per our check, the FGN ALAT registration portal is still open. So those that have not registered can still head over to the portal and complete the registration form.
