Getting an Opay POS machine now seems easier than before. Initially, before you can get a POS machine from Opay, you must have used their mobile app for some months, and must have made a transaction of up to N500,000 on the app.

But now, you can simply register on their platform and buy your POS machine without much protocols again. You will have access to buy their POS machine only when you register on the platform. You can simply do this and buy their POS even without visiting their physical office. But if you want, you can still visit their office, especially if it is close to you.

How To Buy Opay POS Machine

This is not like getting a free POS machine from Opay; here you are buying it to own it for lifetime. So, if there is any Opay office close to you, you can actually walk in there and request for their terminal. You can check on Google to know if there is any one close to you. But if their office is not close to you, you can still buy their POS terminal right from your comfort, even without visiting their office. To do this, you follow the guide below:

1. Download Opay Mobile App

The first thing you should do is to simply go to play store or app store and download the “Opay Mobile Application”.

2. Sign Up On Opay

Having downloaded the Opay app, the next thing you should do is to sign up on the app. There are few necessary things that may be required of you during the sign up, which are:

• You will need your BVN
• Valid ID Card
• Passport
• Utility Bill (e.g NEPA Bill)

3. Upgrade To Merchant

On Opay mobile App, there are about four stages/levels that customers can operate:

• KC 1
• KC 2
• KC 3
• Merchant

These level always determine the daily transaction limit of customers. for example: KC 1 can only make transactions or receive/send a maximum of N50,000 in a day. But in KC 3, customers can make transactions of up to N5,000,000 in a day.

To upgrade to merchant level, you would be required to fill in some details of your business; meanwhile, for you to be able to get Opay POS machine, you must have to upgrade to merchant level.

4. Download The Opay Business App

The Opay POS are always listed on the “Opay Business” mobile app. The app is strictly for Opay businesses, and it’s slightly different from their normal app. However, both the apps work hand in hand.

5. Sign In ON The Opay Business App

Here, you no loner need to sign up again, all you have to do is sign in with your login details as you used in their normal app. That’s your sign in details as you used in number 2 above.

6. Click On Business

Once you login to the Opay Business app, you are going to see different kinds of menu options, just click on “Business.”

7. Click On Hardware

As you clicked on Business, you are also going to see some other sub menus. Then just click on “Hardware”.

8. Click On POS Store

From the Hardware that you clicked above, you will see some options like: pos store, my pos, own pos, transfer pos, and so on. Just click on pos store. Once you click there, you will see a list of their POS terminals available with their prices. Both the mini, traditional and smart/android terminals are always available, with one-off payment prices ranging from N7,000 to N60,000.

9. Select A Terminal

Locate the particular POS terminal you want to buy and click on Purchase. When you do this, it’s going to bring the details and features of the terminal you selected.

10. Add To Cat

After going through the details and features of the terminal as shown to you, if you are satisfied, you can go ahead and add it to your cat. Just the way you do while buying items online.

8. Check Out & Make Payment

Once you are done adding all you want to buy, on the cat, you can then proceed and check out. Once you click on check out, you will be expected to select the quantity of the machine you want to buy. Once done, click on confirm. You will then be taken to the page where you will make payment for the terminal you selected. You would be required to pay through your Opay balance. So you may need to add money to you Opay account so you can pay directly from there. After payment, you would have to wait for the POS to be sent to you at your location. This may take up to 1 week.
